Lockton, the world's largest privately held, independent insurance brokerage, today announced that Sara Romine has been appointed Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary effective November 1, 2026. Romine will lead Lockton's global legal function, providing strategic counsel and oversight of global risk and compliance. She will succeed Trey Humphrey who served in the role for 26 years. The appointment reflects Lockton’s commitment to leadership continuity, strong succession planning, and supporting continued growth in an increasingly complex global business environment.

Romine joined Lockton in December 2022 as Senior Vice President and U.S. General Counsel. Since then, she has become a trusted counselor to leaders across the organization while strategically growing the U.S. legal team with the addition of top-tier legal and legal operations talent. She has also led Lockton's litigation strategy to a successful resolution of numerous high-profile matters.
