Predictability despite headwinds
Commercial insurance price increases continue to moderate, although pricing is not yet falling. That’s owing to a focus by insurers on profitability and a number of sizable headwinds that could wreak havoc for the industry in the months ahead, from social inflation, to a proliferation of catastrophe losses, and economic inflation impacting virtually every product.
In spite of these troubling trends, insurers have signaled an intent to pursue growth. As always individual results can vary — and can depend on a buyer’s use of analytics and the support and guidance it receives from its broker.
