Lockton Dunning is celebrating Vice President, Chief of Staff Kim Pacheco for being featured on the Women We Admire Top 50 Women Leaders of Dallas list. With over 14 years of experience at Lockton, Pacheco has contributed to the growth and success of her clients and helped shape Lockton Dunning’s service offering. Her passion for service helps foster long-term partnerships that are an integral part of Lockton’s success.
“Kim has made an impact on our people and business over the years with one goal in mind — how to make everyone better,” stated Steve Bohannon, chief operating officer. “She’s helped clients navigate the ever changing landscape of solutions needed to support their people and shared those successes with others along the way to expand the reach. This service-first mentality is a staple of our business, and one Kim carries well.”
Pacheco is one example of the incredible women that have made a difference at Lockton. Lockton believes in the strong influence women have in the industry and has made strides in empowering women by promoting from within and giving space to share ideas and make positive change in the company. Over half of Lockton’s people are led by women, and leadership continues to expand its perspective by placing women in top officer positions — representing 35% of officer roles across the company. Development of current and future leaders is fostered through Lockton’s Women in Leadership program, which provides professional women’s networking, mentoring, and training in the U.S. and around the world.
Lockton Dunning has a long-standing commitment of providing an uncommon level of service, which translates to drawing the best and brightest talent from all backgrounds. “Kim has built her career with a focus on making a difference; not conforming to the industry,” said Bruce Sammis, chief executive officer. “We empower our people to lead by example and Kim has shown this through her commitment to putting people first — our clients, our people and our community. We fully support and encourage her continued personal and professional growth.”
“I’m proud to have started my career as an intern in our retirement practice and grown my skills into a senior consultant,” said Pacheco. “This experience allowed me to gain the expertise needed to excel in my current role as chief of staff to our chief executive officer and chief operating officer, where I now have the opportunity to expand my knowledge in more areas of our business. My journey is one example of many unique career paths Lockton has handcrafted to complement skills with a business need.”
Pacheco started her career with Lockton as a retirement intern in 2007. As one of Lockton Dunning’s first retirement Associates, she helped build the retirement business and led some of the largest and most complex accounts. In 2019 she was promoted to vice president, chief of staff, and repurposed her consulting and internal operations expertise to help expand the bandwidth of leadership to carry out key strategic business initiatives across the nation. She has earned several awards along the way, including Lockton Dunning’s pinnacle and most coveted We Live Service! award in 2019, and has participated in various leadership programs, including Women in Leadership and Passport to Leadership. Pacheco also serves as a sounding board for Associates who look toward leaders for help and guidance in the workplace. Lockton Dunning encourages and empowers leaders to lend help and guidance to aspiring future leaders.
