Lockton today announced two new additions to its rapidly growing Transaction Liability Practice. The two new hires — Andrea Anderson and Audrey Bailey — bring to Lockton expertise in real estate transactions and tax matters, respectively, as the broker continues to enhance its capabilities for its clients.
Anderson joins Lockton as a Senior Vice President in the company’s Transaction Liability Practice from WeWork, where she served as head of franchise and strategic real estate transactions. She has nearly two decades of experience as an attorney, with a focus initially on real estate and most recently on real estate -related M&A. Prior to joining WeWork, Anderson acted as Southeast Region General Counsel at the Rockefeller Group, a real estate investor. She began her legal career as a real estate associate at Proskauer Rose.
Bailey joins Lockton as a Vice President within the Transaction Liability Practice’s Tax Insurance team. She was previously a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young, where she assisted clients on tax matters in connection with corporate and private equity transactions across all industries.
The hirings of Anderson and Bailey — both of whom are based in New York — follow a number of important additions to Lockton’s Transaction Liability team since 2020.
“I first worked with Andrea almost 20 years ago at Proskauer, and her work ethic, legal intellect and demeanor have been superb from day one,” Matt Heinz, Transaction Liability Co-Practice Leader said. “Beyond that, her mix of real estate and M&A experience is completely unique in our space. She is the perfect professional to expand our growing real estate transaction liability discipline, as that industry embraces the use of insurance as a dealmaking enhancement.”
“Audrey has advised clients on a broad range of sophisticated transactions while navigating complex tax risks,” Dan Berger, Head of Tax Insurance said. “As companies increasingly use tax insurance to address a diverse range of tax exposures, she is a tremendous addition to Lockton’s team.”
