Australia Modern Slavery Act

The Modern Slavery Act, which passed 27 June 2018, targets extreme working conditions, including low pay, long hours and the absence of rest days. Employers with at least one employee and a minimum turnover of AUD 50 million are required to publish an annual modern slavery statement that includes information about their organizational structure, business and supply chains, due diligence processes, potential modern slavery risks within their organization and supply chains, and steps taken to mitigate those risks. Covered employers must also provide training to all employees about modern slavery.
