Lockton MENA announces the creation of The Wael Khatib Scholarship as a tribute to its founder Wael Khatib, which aims to continue his legacy and offer the opportunity for others to follow in his footsteps
Lockton today announces the creation of The Wael Khatib Scholarship (opens a new window) which aims to honor a great man and legend in our Insurance industry. There are many things we will remember him for, to name a few - his inspirational leadership, his triumphs, his charm, and his genuine friendship. But one of the many features that distinguished him from others was his passion towards accelerating ones career through the solid foundation of academia. He himself graduated from Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) with an MSc Insurance and Risk Management and always encouraged those around him to do the same from the very beginning of their careers.
This scholarship has been established by Lockton MENA through partnership with Bayes Business School, a leading Business School in the UK, one particularly respected for its MSc Insurance and Risk Management. The scholarship has been created to continue Wael Khatib’s legacy and offer the opportunity for others in the MENA region to follow in his footsteps and use academic excellence as a spring board and promise for continued growth.
Applications are now open for 2022. The scholarship is of the value against full tuition fees and is to be offered to anyone resident in the MENA region demonstrating academic excellence and financial need.
Further details on the scholarship, as well as the online application form, can be found on the Bayes Business School website (opens a new window).
Ata Khatib, Chairman of Lockton MENA said: “I believe as passionately as my father in the importance of academic excellence and helping the next generation in achieving it. Myself and wider management team are available to those who have been successfully awarded with this prestigious scholarship. We are happy to guide and mentor them throughout their career in insurance.”
