Lockton wins British Diversity Award for Outstanding Employee Network of the Year

Lockton is proud to be recognised for our commitment to fostering a workplace where everyone can thrive. We are delighted to announce that Ignite, our Associate Resource Group for under 35s, has won Outstanding Employee Network of the Year at the British Diversity Awards! Lockton Chief People Officer, Martyn Worsley, has also been highly commended in the HR Diversity Champion of the Year Award category.

These Awards celebrate individuals and organisations driving real change in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). The Awards were announced last night at a ceremony in the JW Marriott Grosvenor Hotel, London.

The Outstanding Employee Network of the Year Award goes to the network which has achieved the most to make people feel valued in the workplace. Ignite has empowered early-career professionals, especially those from under-represented backgrounds, through mentorship, education, networking and community engagement. This award is a testament to their influence in making Lockton a place where future leaders can grow and excel.

The HR Diversity Champion of the Year Award is given to a leading HR professional who has leveraged their influence to ensure that the values of diversity and fairness are at the heart of their organisation’s HR policies and to ensure their workplace has diverse talent. Martyn’s leadership has transformed Lockton’s DEI strategy, embedding it into the fabric of our culture and operations. His work has helped ensure that diverse talent not only joins Lockton but thrives here, making our business stronger and our teams more dynamic.

As a privately-owned, independent insurance broker, Lockton fosters a culture where people are empowered to bring their whole selves to work, delivering exceptional client service, supporting their communities and driving innovation. Our diverse perspectives help make our clients’ businesses smarter and more successful.

Lockton was also honoured to partner with UK Sport in introducing the Athlete Powering Positive Change Award, underscoring our shared commitment to inclusivity, wellbeing and creating pathways to success. Cindy Ngamba won the award; Cindy is a Cameroonian boxer who competed for the EOC Refugee Team at the 2023 European Games. She is the first-ever medallist for the Refugee Olympic Team.
