Lockton launches People Solutions business in Italy as companies prioritise building stronger workforces

Milan, 1 October 2026: Lockton, the world’s largest independent insurance broker, has expanded its People Solutions presence across Europe with the launch of a dedicated offering in Italy, delivered through Lockton P.L. Ferrari. Andrea Canonico and Claudio Giambelli have been appointed as Co-Heads of People Solutions Italy.

The launch responds to growing demand from Italian employers for integrated approaches to employee benefits, wellbeing, and workforce strategy. As organisations invest more in attracting, retaining, and supporting talent, Lockton will provide tailored People Solutions services, supported by a digital platform designed to connect employers and employees through a single integrated ecosystem.

Andrea Canonico and Claudio Giambelli will be responsible for leading the new offering, bringing together complementary expertise developed over nearly twenty years in the Employee Benefits sector. Both previously led Aon’s Health & Benefits business: Andrea with a stronger focus on service development, welfare solutions and innovative people-focused initiatives, and Claudio with extensive experience in the insurance component and the management of Employee Benefits programmes.

Together, they bring more than 20 years of experience advising multinational organisations and many of Italy's leading companies on people strategies, employee benefits, and large-scale transformation projects. Their combined expertise strengthens Lockton's ability to deliver innovative solutions that blend international perspective with a deep understanding of local market needs.

Filippo Fabbri, CEO, Lockton P.L. Ferrari, commented: “Expanding our capabilities in Italy to include People Solutions is a natural next step as we broaden the strategic support we offer clients. As organisations face increasingly complex challenges, they are looking for a partner who can provide advice, specialist expertise and integrated solutions. We are exceptionally well positioned to help existing and future clients unlock greater value from their workforce through the unique combination of our local expertise, international reach, and our new PeopleHub AI-enabled digital solution for all aspects of employee reward and wellbeing.”

Jon Green, Head of People Solutions, Europe, Lockton, said: "Organisations face increasingly complex workforce demands, and are looking for a partner that can offer multi-risk advisory capabilities. As competition for talent intensifies, business leaders across Italy are placing greater emphasis on attracting, retaining and engaging their people. Increasingly, organisations recognise that a strong people strategy is a key driver of workforce resilience, business performance and long-term success.

“The addition of Andrea and Claudio reinforces our European People Solutions business by underlining our commitment to investing in talented local teams that can help organisations create healthier, more engaged and resilient workforces.”

Lockton P.L. Ferrari, established in the marine and specialty insurance market, will now see Andrea and Claudio support organisations with people, benefits and wellbeing programmes designed to meet evolving workforce needs.

Andrea Canonico said: "The expectations of employees continue to evolve, challenging organisations to think differently about how they support, engage and develop their people. Lockton P.L. Ferrari has built a strong reputation in the Italian market, and the launch of People Solutions creates an exciting opportunity to help clients address some of their most important people and workforce challenges. This launch brings together local know-how and international capability to help clients achieve their goals.”

Claudio Giambelli added: “The most successful organisations are those that view people strategy as a business priority rather than a standalone HR initiative. With a strong reward offering in place, organisations need a more effective way to connect and manage their benefit programmes. Around half of employees make little or no use of the benefits available to them, while many companies manage between five and ten separate providers for people-related services. Our goal is to provide a single, streamlined experience capable of creating value for employees, HR functions, and businesses alike.”
