Feel Good and Lockton launch ‘Reasons to be Radical’ – putting the spotlight on mental health in the legal sector

Feel Good and Lockton are proud to announce their new partnership with a podcast series Reasons to be Radical. The series seeks to prove that prioritising good mental health and wellbeing is good for business.

Workplace culture and mental health in law firms matters. It matters to clients, employees, investors, regulators and insurers. It underpins professional conduct, business performance, and public trust. Never has mental health and the wellbeing of people in the law been more under the spotlight.

Reasons to be Radical invites partners from leading firms, industry experts, and thought leaders to share their personal experiences, best practices and one radical idea to help shape a people-first law firm of the future.

The partnership aims to inspire law firms by showcasing tried and tested practices, actionable solutions and strategies for actively building healthy performance cultures that are both profitable and sustainable.

CEO, Leanne Rigby, Feel Good, commented,

“Feel Good is a leading global behaviour change consultancy specialising in designing mental health and wellbeing programs for the professional and financial services sectors. Our mission is to create an impact through the collective power of the thought leaders behind Reasons to be Radical, to stimulate debate and change for the good in the law. We are proud to partner with Lockton on this mission; Lockton has a proven track record in actively championing mental health and wellbeing in the legal sector. Feel Good and Lockton are excited to support the legal industry with practical and tangible ideas that champion mental health, that are both profitable and responsible”.

Simon Mantell, Partner, Lockton Companies LLP, commented,

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Feel Good on this initiative. We know from working closely with our clients, that the pressure within the legal sector to support employees with their mental health is increasing. Mental health, and wellbeing more widely, have rapidly risen up the agenda due to rising rates of burnout and stress. Alongside this, the Regulator has signalled its expectations in respect to workplace culture and equally, the insurance market is placing greater emphasis on the importance of mental health in respect to risk mitigation, both from a professional indemnity and employee benefits perspective.”

Lucie Gosling-Myers, Senior Client Development Manager, Lockton Companies LLP, further commented,

“We hope that by bringing together diverse perspectives to address the various facets of the issues the legal sector faces, this series can help to engage decision-makers and offer inspiring ideas for change. There’s not going to be a single ‘silver bullet’ that solves everything - this is all about incremental solutions and changes that law firms can put into practice that will not only drive better employee wellbeing but will help firms thrive.”
