Rebecca Fleming appointed Skål International Sydney President

Lockton Australia is proud to announce that Rebecca Fleming, Client Manager – Travel & Tourism, has been appointed President of Skål International Sydney.

Skål International, the only professional organisation promoting global tourism and friendship, was founded in 1934 with a vision to unite all sectors of the tourism industry.

Active in over 82 countries, Skål International boasts more than 11,000 members belonging to 309 Clubs around the globe.

Fleming was the first person, not directly connected to the travel industry, to be admitted as a full member in Sydney 12 years ago. She went on to serve as Sydney Club Secretary from 2019-2023 and Sydney Vice President from 2020-2024, before assuming the role of President last week.

Commenting on the appointment, Fleming said: “Being appointed President of Skål International Sydney is a wonderful honour and a chance to give back to this amazing industry – I couldn’t be prouder.”

Fleming has spent the past two decades providing insurance and risk advice to the travel industry, the past two and a half at Lockton.

“My passion for providing specialised advice and ‘out of the box’ solutions for the diverse companies and associations that make up the Australian travel industry has only grown stronger over this time.”

“I’m so fortunate to be part of a dynamic team at Lockton where I can work with a huge variety of travel organisations to solve complex risk management problems,” Fleming added.

Over the course of her career, Fleming has looked after the Australian operations of cruise companies, airlines, home-based networks and their individual members, corporate travel companies and the majority of Australian travel agency buying groups and associations, as well as tour operators and large tour wholesaling businesses.

Michael Woodlands, General Manager – People Solutions, said: “Rebecca’s dedication to delivering exceptional service and results for her clients is inspiring. This appointment is a testament to her long-standing commitment to the travel industry – congratulations Rebecca!”
