Lockton Australia is delighted to announce the launch of its Lockton Advisory (“LA”) business and a number of senior appointments to the new dedicated division.
LA will build upon the global capabilities of Lockton to deliver a suite of risk, capital and placement services to both the (re)insurance industry and corporate clients requiring bespoke insurance products across Australia, New Zealand and Pacific.
Lockton Pacific CEO, Paul Marsden, says the initial focus will be on reinsurance (both treaty and facultative), MGA solutions including placement, capital management, strategic advisory and innovative risk transfer products.

John Philipsz, Chief Executive Officer
John has 25 years of industry experience, primarily working within capital markets, advisory and reinsurance. He was formerly the CEO of Willis Reinsurance Australia, Co-Head of Asia Pacific for Willis Capital Markets & Advisory, and has held various roles within the investment banking industry across the UK, Japan and the US.
Russell Hails, Partner
Russell has 30 years insurance and reinsurance experience in Australia, the UK & the US. He was formerly an Executive Director at Willis Reinsurance Australia, establishing and leading their facultative & MGA offerings.
Max Garratt, Partner
Max has 20 years of experience in both the insurance and reinsurance sectors. Previously an Executive Director at Willis Reinsurance Australia, Max was responsible for advising on and placing large global casualty treaty programs along with bespoke facultative and MGA placements. He also spent over 10 years in the London market placing complex global risks in both the company and Lloyd’s of London market.
