Take our free e-learning module for Scottish solicitors to learn more about social engineering risks.
Social engineering is the use of deception to manipulate individuals into divulging confidential or personal information that may be used for fraudulent purposes. Attackers will typically investigate and monitor potential victims, learning their contacts and daily activity, before starting their attack. They do this by obtaining access to computer systems. After gathering information, fraudsters will then proceed to deceive and attack.
