Belfast, United Kingdom - January 17, 2019: A pedestrian walking past the boarded up main entrance of an abandoned BHS retail store in Castle Place in the heart of the city's main retail area. BHS (British Home Stores) was created in 1928, becoming one of the UK and Ireland's key anchor retail chains selling clothing and homewares. It was declared bankrupt in 2016. It's demise reflects the wider decline of retailing in British and Irish city centres and the decline of the department store retail format.
